Support America's Military Forces Around the Globe

The Defense Supply Center Richmond is part of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). DLA is a logistics combat support agency whose primary role is to provide supplies and services to America's military forces worldwide. Our skilled and dedicated employees may work around the clock, in all 50 states, about 27 countries, at over 500 sites located close to, and partnered with, our customers. Our mission at DSCR is to provide the best value aviation weapons system and environmental logistics support to America's armed forces on land, sea and in the air.

Students can apply for positions through the various Student Career Employment Programs. We offer programs for graduate students, outstanding scholars and student summer employment. Duty station is Richmond, VA.

Graduate Program

The graduate program offers valuable work experience that is directly related to your academic field of study and provides formal periods of work and study while you are attending graduate school. You may be eligible for permanent employment under this component after successfully completing your education and meeting work requirements. Intern positions available under this program include Contract Specialist, Inventory Management Specialist, Operations Research Analyst, and Computer Specialist. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Outstanding Scholar

In order to qualify as an outstanding scholar, you must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate work, or have graduated in the top ten percent of your graduating class or major university subdivision. Intern positions available under this program include Contract Specialist, Inventory Management Specialist and Management Analyst. Applications are accepted throughout the year.

Summer Employment

Summer employment begins in May and may not exceed September 30 of the same year. In order to qualify, you must be a student enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, as a degree-seeking student, be at least 16 years of age, and take at least half-time academic or vocational and technical course load in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, or 2-year or 4-year college or university, graduate or professional school. Positions available under summer employment include clerk-typist, laborer, and computer clerk. The summer employment announcement usually opens in March and applications are accepted until the closing date.
